LA meets the BLACK FOREST - Katharina and Helmut, the founders of Black Forest House 1650 are both curious, adventurous human beings, who would describe their life as a constant journey of exploration, growth and development.

“Our Intention was to turn this historic building into a unique place where we combine our Californian experience with our European roots. Black Forest House 1650 is a destination, designed and curated uniquely to gather, create, collaborate and ultimately to be. Committed to a conscious lifestyle rooted in the deep connection to nature with a global viewpoint we set out to become the caretakers of a historically significant building in a spectacular setting. Taking on this responsibility we immediately understood that we want to share what we create and host like-minded individuals interested in hearing our story.

The Black Forest House 1650 as we name it has undergone a complete renovation with focus on historic preservation using traditional building methods with regionally sourced building materials. The renovation was overseen by renowned construction firm Holzbau Bruno Kaiser, Bernau, one of the leading firms in traditional timber construction under consideration of sustainable building materials with greatest attention to detail. Interior Design and creative supervision of the project by Studio Riebenbauer.“
